Number One Ranked Solon High to Play Canton GlenOak in Football Playoffs

SOLON, OH - The Solon High School Comets finished the season ranked number one in the OHSAA Division 1, Region 1 rankings. The team won on Friday, beating Medina by a score of 51-43. They jumped up to number one after Lakewood's St. Edward dropped their rivalry game to St. Ignatius.

Now the real fun begins. The Comets will roll into the playoffs where they will play 8th seed Canton GlenOak (6-4). All Region 1 playoff games will be played Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Here's the full slate of games for the region:

• 8 Canton GlenOak (6-4) at 1 Solon (9-1)
• 7 Euclid (7-3) at 2 Lakewood St. Edward (7-2)
• 6 Canton McKinley (6-4) at 3 Stow-Munroe Falls (9-1)
• 5 Massillon Jackson (7-3) at 4 Cleveland St. Ignatius (9-1)

The Regional Semifinals will be played Nov. 11. The Regional Finals will be played Nov. 18 and Nov. 19. Then the State Semifinals will be played Nov. 25 and Nov. 26.
