OHSA Compliance To Be Focus Of Next Solon Luncheon
The Solon Chamber of Commerce's August program will focus on inspection stats and OHSA enforcement.

From Western Reserve Safety Council:Western Reserve Safety Council works collaboratively with the Aurora, Beachwood, Chagrin Valley, Hudson, Nordonia Hills and Twinsburg Chambers of Commerce to encourage participation and membership. WRSC is taking open enrollment for the next fiscal year. Sign up (or transfer) by July 31, 2108 to be eligible for membership benefits. The program year runs from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 and content is delivered through monthly programs. The next program is August 1 and is titled: OSHA Inspection Stats, Compliance & Enforcement Plans.Founded in 2014, Western Reserve Safety Council is sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation (BWC), Division of Safety and Hygiene and the Solon Chamber of Commerce for the benefit of businesses and other organizations in the Southeastern Cuyahoga County, Northern Summit County and parts of Geauga and Portage County. WRSC is open to all area companies, local governments, school districts and police and fire districts. Self-insured companies may join as well.
Member companies have access to significant potential rebates on premiums paid through this program as well as additional rebates open only to Ohio Safety Council Members.Featuring speaker Howie Eberts on August 1st; 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Mustard Seed Market & Cafè, second floor, 6025 Kruse Drive, Solon, the program will deliver content to keep employers current with the latest updates by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) including inspection statistics and results, recent significant OSHA enforcement actions, results from a study of OSHA fatality inspections and OSHA’s enforcement plans and initiatives for the upcoming year.
Howie Eberts, OSHA Department of Labor, currently oversees the Cleveland Area Office, an OSHA enforcement office with 28 people, including 18 Compliance Officers and two Whistleblower Investigators. The Cleveland Area Office is one of four OSHA Area Offices in Ohio, with Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati, and it covers twelve counties in the northeast corner of the State.Cost of the program and buffet lunch is $25 for members and $27 for non-members and is open to the public.
