Peer Models Needed For Solon Preschool Program

The district is looking for students that can serve as leaders and models for other students.

SOLON, OH —The Solon Schools need students to become peer models in the 5-Star Step Up To Quality Award preschool program for the 2019-2020 school year.

"The preschool peer models benefit from participating in developmentally appropriate preschool programming led by master teachers in the field of early education. At Solon Schools Preschool, students are immersed in a diverse learning environment fostering their academic and social-emotional learning and kindergarten readiness," the district said in a statement.

Students will take on center-based learning with peers, which will help participants develop empathy, learn and model school behaviors like taking turns, and gain confidence in the school routine. Children must be 3-years-old by June 1, 2019 to take part in the program.
