Police Warning Solon Residents About Possible Scam

There is a man attempting to solicit funds for a new playground in the city...but no such playground plans exist, police said.

SOLON, OH — Police are warning residents about a new scam targeting families in Solon.

The police department said a man has been soliciting funds for a "Parkside Playground" development. Problem is, the Solon Schools are not soliciting funds for any playground projects, police said.

The man has been seen around the city. According to police, the suspect tells people that their children will be getting a flyer discussing the project. That flyer was supposed to go out last week.
