Prisoner Attempts Suicide At Solon Jail
A 26-year-old slit his own wrists in an attempt to get out of the jail, police say.

SOLON, OH — A 26-year-old prisoner at Solon Jail attempted to kill himself on Dec. 13. The man disassembled a shaving razor and used the blades to cut his own wrist. He then told officers that he wanted out of Solon Jail.
The incident took place in the morning, a little after 9:30 a.m. The 26-year-old was a prisoner of Twinsburg Police and was being kept in Solon's jail.
A spokesperson for Solon Police said the prisoner asked for a razor to shave. He was provided with a disposable razor, which he proceeded to disassemble.

Emergency personnel rushed the man to a local hospital for treatment. The man survived the suicide attempt.
Police have not yet answered if the incident will change any of Solon Jail's policies. Patch will update this article when the Solon Police Department responds.
