State Representatives Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) and Mike Dovilla (RβBerea) were joined in Columbus by winners of the βLegislator for a Dayβ program.
βIt was my pleasure to be able to invite these students down to have a chance to see how their state government works,β Rep Anielski said.Β βHopefully these students have a better understanding of how a bill becomes a law.β
βIt was a pleasure to welcome several young citizens and their families to the Peopleβs House,β said Dovilla. βThis innovative program provided a hands-on experience in representative democracy for our children, and I am encouraged by the continued enthusiasm and high level of participation we have seen throughout the district the past four years.β

The program gives students in grades K-6th the opportunity to see how government works on a state level and an in-depth look into the legislative process. The students participated in a mock legislative voting session in the House Chambers, took a VIP tour of the Statehouse which included the Governorβs office, and had lunch.
