Road Rage Leads To Gun Incident At Solon Gas Station: Police

Police said a man reportedly followed a car through Solon, threatened to attack the driver, and then pulled out a gun.

SOLON, OH — Police are looking for a man that followed a car into a gas station parking lot and then pulled a gun on a person. The suspect reportedly waved a gun around and then fled before officers arrived.

The incident happened in broad daylight, on Feb. 24 at 2:12 p.m, police said. Callers reported a man had a gun at the Circle K, and was brandishing it. Officers rushed to the gas station on Aurora Road, but the man was already gone.

Investigators learned the incident started further east on Aurora Road. There was a traffic dispute and the suspect followed another car into the parking lot of the gas station.

The suspect then got out of his car, a gold Buick, and confronted the driver of the other car. The suspect reportedly said he was going to attack the other driver.

One of the driver's friends was following behind the two cars and pulled into the parking lot after them. The friend got out of their vehicle and tried to diffuse the argument. It didn't work.

Instead, the suspect went to the trunk of his Buick and pulled out a gun. He then started waving it around, police said.

Witnesses provided police with a license plate number, but it turned out to be the wrong license plate. Police have not yet identified the suspect.
