Safes Cracked At Solon Business, Money Stolen

Someone drilled through a safe at a local car wash, stealing about $50 in quarters. The suspect tried to get into a second safe, too.

SOLON, OH — Someone cracked a safe at a local car wash, stealing $50 in quarters during the final days of September. That same week, someone broke into a home on Liberty Road and stole copper pipe, police records indicate.

The safe cracking was discovered at about 11:15 on September 29. Employees at Ultimate Car Wash on Aurora Road found that one of their safes had been drilled and emptied of quarters. One of the company's other safes had also been damaged, but the safe had remained locked.

Detectives are investigating the case. It's not the only matter they'll be looking into from September 29.
