Solon-Based Swagelok To Add 250 Assembly Jobs In Coming Months

SOLON, OHIO — Swagelok, the Solon-based manufacturing company that supplies valves and fittings to chip fabricators around the world, has announced it will be looking to fill more than 200 openings in coming months around northeast Ohio.

Company officials announced this week that although the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has disrupted many company’s ability to hire or keep people at work, demand in the global semiconductor industry has been rising. As that trend continues, Swagelok, which was established in 1947, announced plans to aggressively hire 250 associates to work in assembly and as machinists in several locations around the region.

The fittings that are manufactured by the company are being used by chip fabricators that produce emerging technology, including 5G driverless vehicles, cloud computing and data storage, the company announced.

Swagelok, which is a $2 billion privately held developer of fluid system products, employs about 4,300 people in northeast Ohio with the majority of employees based in Solon, where the company’s manufacturing headquarters employees more than 3,000 workers.
