Solon Board Of Education Elects New President, Vice President
Julie Glavin and John Heckman will both lead the Board of Education in 2020.
SOLON, OH — The Solon Board of Education elected its new president and vice president this week. Julie Glavin is now the board's president and John Heckman is the board's vice president.
Glavin was first elected to the Solon Board of Education in November 2003. She is a local business owner, the founder of Glavin Industries, an industrial identification and marking solutions company, and a member of several Solon volunteer groups.
Heckman is a certified public accountant and vice president of finance for Kirtland Capital Partners, a private equity firm.

A Solon Schools spokesperson told Patch both Glavin and Heckman have volunteered for the Solon PTA, Solon Athletic Boosters, Solon Music Parents, Music in Motion Show Choir and other district groups.
Glavin and Heckman will both serve one-year terms as president and vice president, respectively.
