Solon Board Of Education Meeting Online Only Due To Coronavirus

SOLON, OH — The Solon Board of Education's regular meeting on Monday, April 6 will be held exclusively online. Public meetings across Ohio are being held online due to Gov. Mike DeWine's stay-at-home order, intended to blunt the spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

The Solon Board of Education meeting will be held at 6 p.m., as scheduled, but will only be accessible through YouTube. The meeting will not be held at the Solon Board of Education office, according to Tim Pickana, the district's treasurer.

The Solon City School District is following the Governor’s stay-at-home order and the necessary public health social distancing guidelines to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus," Pickana said.

The board meeting will be broadcast on the district's Solon Education TV YouTube channel.

On March 30, DeWine extended the mandatory closure of Ohio schools. Face-to-face classes cannot resume until at least May 1. Online learning will be allowed to continue, and state testing for the year has been waived.
