Solon Chamber Of Commerce Announces 2019 Awards

The chamber announced its 2019 business of the year and its 2019 volunteer of the year.

SOLON, OH — The Solon Chamber of Commerce's annual luncheon will honor companies and entrepreneurs in the city and will feature a performance by the Solon Madrigal Choir, led by Gary Lewis. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

This year's luncheon will be held at Pinstripes, 111 Park Avenue in Orange Village, at the Pinecrest shopping complex. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. and concludes at 1:30 p.m.

The 2019 Business of the Year is Loan Protector Insurance Services. The company had a 35-percent increase in headcount and moved into a newly remodeled building on Parkland Boulevard.

Here's what the chamber said about Loan Protector Insurance Services: "Their commitment to Solon includes a strong partnership with the Solon Food Pantry by sending volunteers to help. Regionally, Loan Protector has partnered with the Cleveland City Mission to collect socks and blanket for those need. Loan Protector has been a long-time partner with the City of Solon and is committed to stay in Solon, continue to grow, and remain true to the community outreach that they are passionate about as an organization."

The 2019 Volunteer of the Year is Carl Divita, the store director for the Mustard Seed. He got involved with the Solon Chamber of Commerce in July 2018 and volunteered to serve on the Membership Committee. He was then elected to the Board of Directors, with a term starting January 1, 2019.

"In 11 short months, Carl has not only been an asset to the board, but an active member of the Events Committee, Golf Committee, Membership Committee and Member Visits Committee. Carl’s passion shines bright when you reflect on the work he does with the Solon Chamber of Commerce. He played a major role in helping the Solon Chamber accomplish several of our pillars of success including celebrating member accomplishments, increasing member retention, determining member value and deliver something for all members," the Chamber said.
