Solon Cinemas Broken Into, Alarm Ripped Off Wall
A manager discovered that someone had forced their way into the locked cinema and tried to steal cash from the ATM.

SOLON, OH - Someone really wanted to see a movie on Feb. 3. An unidentified suspect broke into Solon Cinemas and then tried to steal cash from the business' ATM. Presumably, he was real excited for John Wick 2 and was just trying to queue early.
Theft, Marc’s: Quick hands and uncomfortable proximity allowed a suspected thief to snatch a woman's credit cards on Feb. 1. An 83-year-old Hiram woman was shopping at the Marc's at 6321 SOM Center Rd., when a women she did not know approached her and got uncomfortably close. The Hiram woman tried to quickly disengage and walked to the cash register. When she got there she found her wallet was missing. She paid for her groceries with cash and then checked on her credit card. She found it had already been used at the Walmart in Macedonia and someone had attempted to use it twice at the Streetsboro Walmart.
OVI, US 422: Police stopped Lewis Thompson, 25, of Cleveland, on Feb. 2 on US 422 going west for a lane violation. When officers spoke to Thompson, they say they could smell burnt marijuana. A suspected marijuana pipe was seen on the center console of the car and Thompson said he had been smoking about 15 minutes earlier. He was arrested and taken to jail. He took a breath test and blew a .000. He also took a urine test which has been sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crime lab for examination. He was charged with OVI, Failure to Drive in Marked Lanes, and Improper Display of License Plates.

Burglary, Solon Road: There was a reported burglary at a home on Solon Road on Feb. 2. The 57-year-old resident said that between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. that day, someone had kicked in the back door his his house, came into the home, and stole his television, $1,200 in cash, and a stiletto automatic knife. There was disarray throughout the rest of the house but nothing else appears to have been taken. The detective bureau will be investigating.
Breaking and Entering, Solon Cinemas: A manager at Solon Cinemas, 6185 Enterprise Prkwy., came into work on the morning of Feb. 3 and found the alarm panel had been ripped from the wall. The outer door to the ATM had been forced open. The suspect(s) gained entry to the cash area of the ATM. Examination of surveillance video revealed that the suspect forced entry through a front door; he was unable to take anything. The detective bureau will investigate the B & E.
