Solon Company Makes Forbes' Best Employers List

SOLON, OH — Swagelok has been named one of the 500 best midsize employers in the nation by Forbes. The annual rankings of best employers in the country placed the Solon-based manufacturer at No. 49, the third-highest ranking achieved by an Ohio company in 2018.

Forbes' rankings were released on Tuesday and include 500 companies that have at least 1,000 employees. Swagelok actually has approximately 9,000 workers worldwide, including about 2,500 in Solon. The company did about $2 billion in sales in 2016.

Swagelok made another of Fortune's prestigious lists. The Solon-based company was ranked No. 224 among America's largest private companies. Swagelok could be climbing up those rankings soon.

The company just announced it's looking to build a new, global headquarters and will invest between $30 million and $50 million in the project. The site will house between 300 and 500 employees and could grow from there. The facility will specifically service the company's global customer base.

Anton, chairman and chief executive officer, Swagelok Company in a press release.

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile the list. Statista surveyed 30,000 people, asking respondents to rate how likely they'd be to recommend their employer to others, Forbes explains. Respondents were also asked to nominate organizations outside of their own, according to Forbes.
