Solon Earth Day To Be Celebrated April 26
Cheap mulch, free water reclamation facility tours, paper shredding and more will mark Earth Day 2020 in Solon.
SOLON, OH — The city of Solon will celebrate Earth Day on April 26. Both the Water Reclamation Facility and the Service Department will host events for residents.
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Water Reclamation Facility, 6951 Cochran Road, will host an open house and paper shredding event. Guests can take guided tours of the facility and enjoy free refreshments. There will also be giveaways and a chance to win a rain barrel. Guests will also learn how their sewer bill supports public health and contributes to the protection of water resources in Northeast Ohio.
Residents can bring three banker's boxes of materials to be shredded, for free, to the event. There is a limit of three boxes per household.

The Solon Service Department will host a bagged mulch sale and e-scrap drop-off site from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The building is at 6600 Cochran Road.
Bagged mulch is $2 for residents and $1 for Solon seniors during the event. Crews will load the mulch bags into cars. There is a limit of 10 bags per car and mulch will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents will need to have a form of identification to buy the mulch.
