Solon Earth Day Celebration 2019 Will Be Held April 28
Residents can get cheap bagged mulch, free tree seedlings, shred papers and more on Sunday.
SOLON, OH — The city's annual Earth Day celebration will return on Sunday. Residents will be able to learn about sustainable municipal programs, buy bagged mulch, shred papers and dispose of E-scrap materials.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held at the Solon Service Department, 6600 Cochran Road. At the Service Department, residents can learn about the city's recycling and composting programs.
Residents can also buy bagged mulch at the Service Department. The bags are $2 per residents, and $1 for Solon seniors. Service Department employees will load bags into cars. Each car is limited to 10 bags, the city said. The bagged mulch program is open only to Solon residents.

There will also be a paper shredding opportunity. Resident's can bring up to three banker's boxes per household to be shredded. That program is also open only to Solon residents.
While supplies last, there will also be a tree seedling giveaway. Residents that are interested in snagging baby trees will want to arrive early to ensure they get a tree.
