Solon Finance Director Bill Weber Retiring This Week
Weber retires after 12 years serving the city of Solon

Bill Weber will retire from his post as Finance Director in Solon on Friday.
City officials praised Weber for his financial acumen and thanked him for his service to the city.
"His financial expertise will definitely be missed by the city," said Mayor Susan Drucker.Β

Drucker said the first time she met Weber he gave her a "Finance 101" lesson and has guided her during her time with the city.
"He's been there as my tutor all the way through," she said.

Weber, a Solon native, has been with the city for 12 years. Before that, heΒ worked for the Ohio Department of Taxation, the state auditor's office and the cities of Highland Heights and Streetsboro.Β
Leading operations in the finance department is Assistant Director Fred Wendel.Β
The city is advertising to hire a new finance director, and is accepting applications through Aug. 15.
