Solon Gas Prices: Lower for Now, But Will They Bounce Up?

First, the bad news: Gas prices are still really expensive.

The good news is they could be, and have been, worse, and that the downward movement of oil prices should eventually push gas prices lower. Still, there are no guarantees since gas prices are influenced by myriad factors.

Bevi Powell, a spokeswoman for the American Automobile Association, said the average price in Solon a week ago today was $4.14 per gallon. A survey of stations at about 11 a.m. today found prices had dropped to $3.99 per gallon 

While AAA doesn't offer gas price predictions, the trend is that as oil prices decrease gas prices will likely follow, Powell said.

"As long as that trend continues, it could mean relief for motorists in Solon," she said.
