Solon High Has 3 National Merit Corporate Scholarship Recipients

The Solon Schools are expecting more students to receive scholarships through the the National Merit program in coming months.

SOLON, OH — Three Solon High students have received National Merit Corporate Scholarships. Catherine Wang, Stephanie Wang and Rachel Zhou each received a scholarship to attend college.

"We're excited and proud of the accomplishments of these students," said Tamara Strom, a Solon Schools spokesperson. She added that the district is looking forward to future announcements of additional National Merit Scholarship recipients from Solon. More student recipients are expected to be announced in June and July.

Catherine Wang received the Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship, which is a four-year scholarship available to children of Lubrizol employees. She intends to study finance in college.

Stephanie Wang received the Merit Rockwell Automation Scholarship. She intends to study economics in college.

Rachel Zhou received the PWC Charitable Foundation scholarship. She intends to study law in college.

The National Merit Scholarship competition will announce additional scholarship recipients on June 3 and July 13, according to a news release from the corporation.
