Solon Man Arrested For Stealing His Own Car, Police Say

The man was allegedly driving recklessly on SR 43 when police pulled him over. That's when they discovered his car was entered as stolen.

SOLON, OH — In a strange incident, a Solon man was arrested for stealing his own car and driving intoxicated, police said. The case involved a parking violation, a tow yard and a bit of drifting while driving, according to the incident report.

At about 1:45 a.m. on June 1, an officer on patrol saw a car swerving on SR 43. The vehicle began to drift over the roadway's solid yellow line, so the officer started following the car.

A license plate check showed the car had been entered as stolen by Cleveland Police. The Solon officer then tried to pull the car over on Inwood Drive, police said. Instead of stopping, the driver continued on to a home on Forest Glen Avenue.
