Solon Man With Cancer Attacked By Adult Son

SOLON, OH - Police arrested a 36-year-old man for assaulting his cancer-stricken father on March 12. The man broke into his father's home, started an argument with his dad, and then assaulted him. Read on for more information.

Domestic Violence, Russell Drive: Police were called to Russell Drive for a domestic violence call on March 9. Officers spoke with a 20-year-old victim and her sister. They told police that the victim's live-in boyfriend slapped her in the face and punched her in the back during an argument. The boyfriend was arrested for Domestic Violence and taken to jail. He is being held without bond pending arraignment.

OVI, US 422: Darren Guerrini, 51 of Northfield, was arrested after police were dispatched to an accident on US 422 west. Guerrini had driven off of the road, police say. He crossed back over the road and hit a guardrail on the left side of the road. Police smelled alcohol coming off Guerrini, asked him to perform field sobriety tests, and determined he was impaired. He was arrested and taken to jail where he refused to submit to a breath test; he was charged with OVI and Failure to Control.

OVI, US 422: Police stopped Justin Mackey, 24, of Maple Heights, for swerving on US 422 west. The officer said he saw Mackey fumbling for his wallet, had bloodshot eyes, and smelled of alcohol. Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired. Mackey was arrested and taken to jail. He took a breath test and blew a .119. He was charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, Failure to Drive in Marked Lanes, as well as Carrying a Concealed Weapon for failing to notify the officer that he was a permit holder and had his weapon on him, and having the weapon while intoxicated.

Domestic Violence, Independence Court: Police say a 63-year-old man with cancer was assaulted by his adult son on March 12. The son broke into the man's home, using a knox box, and began arguing with his father. The son then choked his father, pushed his father down, and hit him in the abdomen with his knees. The son was later arrested for Domestic Violence and Burglary.
