Solon Outlines How Residents Can Help Others Amid Coronavirus
City officials are encouraging residents to donate to the Solon Foundation or volunteer through the Senior Center.
SOLON, OH — Solon residents have been inundating city officials, asking for opportunities to volunteer during the coronavirus outbreak. The city is now sharing a couple of ways residents can help others.
“We are so overwhelmed by the amount of people who have contacted us looking for ways to help others in the city who have been affected by the coronavirus whether through sickness, unemployment or loneliness, and I am so proud to be a part of this tremendously caring community,” said Mayor Edward Kraus.
First, residents can donate to the Solon Foundation, a nonprofit that supports programs and activities in the city. The foundation also helps city departments respond to the needs of residents during the pandemic. For example, the foundation has expanded the nutritional programming for seniors and residents with limited incomes.
