Solon Police Help Catch Man Accused Of Seeking Child Sex
A man has been accused of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor after Solon police took part in an undercover operation.
SOLON, OH — Solon investigators helped catch a man suspected of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor this month, the police department announced.
During a joint operation with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, undercover officers began talking online with a 50-year-old man from Brunswick. The man was told, via messaging, that he was chatting with a 15 year old.
Throughout the course of the online conversations, undercover officers and the man discussed meeting and having sex. The man set a date, time and location to meet with the "teenager."

When the 50-year-old arrived at the agreed upon location on July 10, he was taken into custody by police and moved to the Solon Correction Center.
During the MLB All-Star Game festivities, two region-wide human trafficking stings were conducted with assistance from statewide law enforcement. The operations resulted in nearly 50 arrests.

"Online predators are a hidden threat to children throughout this community. The success of this operation should serve as a stern reminder to perpetrators – if you attempt to exploit children online, we will catch you," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley said. "This operation would not have been possible without the teamwork of the numerous law enforcement agencies involved."
