Solon Police Officer Charged With Domestic Violence

The charges stem from an incident in Geauga County. The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave.

SOLON, OH - A Solon police officer has been charged with domestic violence. The officer was taken into custody by the Geauga County Sheriff's Department on May 3. The charge is a first degree misdemeanor count of Domestic Violence.

The incident took place in Geauga County, where the officer and his wife live. Solon Police immediately placed the officer on paid administrative leave pending both further information and the resolution of the case.

The officer has been charged with both first degree misdemeanor Domestic Violence and minor misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. The complainant in the case has not requested a temporary restraining order.

The Geauga County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation. Solon Police said in a statement that they have very little information about the case, but described it as "extremely complex."

"There have since been additional complications with the alleged victim, and we have a sincere concern for her well being," a spokesperson for the Solon Police said.
