Solon Resident Attacked With Knife, Police Say

Police said one person had to get six stitches after being slashed with a knife.

SOLON, OH — A person was attacked with a knife during a fight in Solon near Cromwell Drive and North Roundhead, according to police records.

At about 6:30 p.m. on July 9, callers began reporting a large fight and people apparently wielding knives. When officers got there, the suspects had taken off in a car. One of the victims was able to identify the attackers.

Investigators believe a first fight occurred somewhere else in Solon before moving to the Cromwell-North Roundhead area. The brawl may have started over a property dispute, police said.

During the fight one of the suspects pulled out a knife and slashed the victim, according to police records. The victim's mother then ran outside to try and break up the fight and was punched in the face by another suspect, police said.

The victim had to get six stitches because of his cut, police said.

Both suspects were located at an apartment complex nearby. They were taken into custody on suspicion of felonious assault and suspicion of assault. The suspects were then taken to the Solon Correction Center.

Both suspects are 19-years-old and from Solon, police said.
