Solon Schools Appoint Interim Superintendent
Longtime Solon Schools Superintendent Joe Regano died on July 5. The district named his interim replacement on Tuesday.
SOLON, OH — Fred Bolden has been named interim superintendent of the Solon Schools following the death of Joe Regano.
Bolden was already serving as superintendent pro tempore during Regano's medical leave. However, his contract was designed to end when Regano was no longer superintendent. The Board of Education approved a new contract for Bolden on Tuesday morning.
“The Solon Board of Education continues to have every confidence in Fred’s ability to lead the district,” said Board President Julie Glavin. “This is a sad and challenging time for the Solon Schools. Our community needs time to grieve the loss of Joe Regano. Fred will be an exceptionally calm and steady guiding force to simultaneously help our community process this difficult loss and implement the complex plans for the return to school for our students in the midst of global pandemic.”
