Solon Schools Best In Region: Report
The district again topped Cleveland Magazine's rankings of best suburbs. Find out where the city was ranked in the 2017 list.

SOLON, OH — The City of Solon is the 9th best suburb in Northeast Ohio, according to Cleveland Magazine's annual rankings of the area's suburbs. The city fell three spots versus its 2016 ranking.
The full list and rankings will be released by the magazine on Thursday. Until then, Soloners will have to console themselves with being one of the 10 best suburbs in Northeast Ohio, and the 7th best suburb in Cuyahoga County.
The top ranked suburb for 2017 is Richfield, which broke the news on its official city website. Soon after, Beachwood declared itself the best suburb in Cuyahoga County and the second best suburb in the region.

The Cleveland Magazine initial rankings can be found here. More online coverage will become available on June 1. The June issue of the magazine is on newsstands now. Cleveland Magazine Eidtor Steve Gleydura will be featured on Ideastream at 7:30 p.m.
While the city may have fallen down a few pegs, the Solon School District was again ranked as the best public school system in the region.

The district is fighting for a major source of funding and is asking its supporters for help. The loss of the Tangible Personal Property tax and its accompanying reimbursement for its repeal loom large over the district's budget, threatening to blow a $3.5 million hole in next year's funding.
