Solon Schools Install Temporary Superintendent
Fred Bolden was appointed superintendent pro tempore at Monday night's Board of Education meeting.

SOLON, OH — The Solon Board of Education appointed Fred Bolden superintendent pro tempore on Monday night. Bolden steps in for Joseph Regano who is dealing with an undisclosed medical issue, the district said.
Bolden is the district's assistant superintendent and will continue to perform his regular functions, as well as take on Regano's duties.
“Mr. Bolden has the authority and full confidence of the Board to carry out the responsibilities of the superintendent while Mr. Regano continues on medical leave,” said Solon Board of Education President John Heckman. “Fred has been an exceptional school and administrative leader for the Solon Schools and will guide the district in good stead.”

Regano, who has been battling illness since before the school year started, has received numerous get-well messages from students and families in the district. However, Solon Schools officials cannot reveal details of the superintendent's illness.
“At the same time, please understand that we continue to be unable to share specific information due to confidentiality constraints,” Heckman said. “Moving forward, the daily work of the district will continue unimpeded. Mr. Bolden, along with the other members of the administrative team, will be able to attend to any emergent district or school issues that may arise."
