Solon Sewer Bill Will Continue On Quarterly Basis

The city announced on Facebook that it would break from Cleveland Water's monthly billing and continue to bill quarterly.

SOLON, OH — Even as Cleveland Water transitions to a monthly sewer billing process for customers, the city of Solon has informed residents it plans to continue to bill for sewer services on a quarterly basis. The city and Cleveland Water had a previous agreement under which Cleveland Water provided billing services for Solon. In 2011, the two sides broke that agreement and went their separate ways. However, Solon continues to use data collected by Cleveland Water to determine water usage rates.

While Cleveland Water will transition to a monthly billing process, Solon will continue to use a quarterly system to bill customers. According to the city's sewer billing website, customers can expect bills on the following dates:

  • June 1st - 1st Quarter Billing
  • September 1st - 2nd Quarter Billing
  • December 1st - 3rd Quarter Billing
  • March 1 - 4th Quarter Billing

"The unit rate (Mcf) and administrative charge have remained unchanged for 2017. The City bases the sewer billing charge on water usage for the quarterly period," the city said on Facebook.
