SOM Center Road Now Open In Solon, Lane Restrictions In Place
A low-hanging wire has closed the road in both directions. Police are asking residents to take an alternate route.

SOLON, OH — A low-hanging wire closed traffic on SOM Center Road in Solon on Wednesday morning. The closure was near the Cannon Road intersection and closed the street in both directions. The road is now open to traffic, but there may be some lane restrictions, according to Solon Police.
More than 11,000 FirstEnergy customers are without power in Northeast Ohio after high winds and thunderstorms rolled through the region on Tuesday night. A high wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the area and will remain in place until 8 p.m. Winds could reach speeds of 50 mph.
"Expect some tree branches to come down. The ground is wet and a few trees could be uprooted. Some power lines may be downed," the National Weather Service said. Minor property damage could also occur. Drivers in large vehicles should be extra cautious on Wednesday.

FirstEnergy said many of its current outages should be taken care of Wednesday morning. However, additional outages may occur Wednesday night, as wind gusts begin to pick up.
