Spilled Beer Gets Man Arrested For Drunken Driving In Solon

The man's car was seen swerving all over Cochran Road before police pulled him over.

SOLON, OH — Callers reported seeing a car swerving all over Cochran Road in the late afternoon. When police tracked down the driver, they found a spilled can of beer on his front passenger seat and marijuana in his vehicle.

The calls about the reckless driver started coming in at about 4:20 p.m. on November 4. Police were able to track down the suspect's car on Cochran, near Hall Street.

The driver, a 29-year-old Cleveland man, smelled of alcohol, police said. He also had several signs of impairment.

Police saw a spilled can of Milwaukee's Best Ice Beer on the passenger seat. Weed was also found in the car. To top it all off, the driver had a warrant for his arrest in Maple Heights.

Field sobriety tests were given to the Clevelander, and they indicated he was impaired. Officers arrested the man and took him to Solon Jail. The man could not complete a breath test, police said.

The driver has been charged with driving under suspension, operating a vehicle impaired, having an open container, and drug abuse. Maple Heights Police put a holder on the man.
