Suspect Tried To Coerce 8-Year-Old Solon Girl Into His Car

The 8-year-old girl refused a ride offer from the man by running to her brother. Now police are searching for the man that enticed her.

SOLON, OH — Police are searching for a man that attempted to entice a 8-year-old Solon girl into his SUV on July 9. The man was spotted near Lochmoor Drive. He was driving a black SUV.

The incident took place in the evening on July 9, when the girl and her 12-year-old brother were playing near the CEI lines off of Lochmoor. The two were playing hide-and-seek when the man approached the girl.

The man, described a male with brown hair, asked if the girl needed a ride home. Well versed in stranger danger, the girl ran to her brother. The man stayed in his black SUV and drove west out of the area. Police arrived in the area shortly after and searched for the vehicle but could not find the man.

The SUV is described as black, slightly larger in size than the SUV police drive in Solon, and bearing an out-of-state license plate. The plate had a W and A on it, and was possible a West Virginia license plate. The detective bureau is following up on the incident.
