Suspected Drug Trafficker From Garfield Heights Charged

A 29-year-old is facing a seven-count indictment for intention to distribute opioids and possession of a firearm.

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH — A 29-year-old Garfield Heights man has been charged for attempting to traffick carfentanil, fentanyl, heroin and fentanyl analogues. Tyrone Cammon faces a seven-count indictment for possession and intent to distribute, as well as using a firearm in relation to drug trafficking.

“This defendant sold the same drugs that have killed thousands of our friends and relatives and illegally carried a firearm as part of his drug trafficking,” U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman said.

The indictment against Cammon says he had fentanyl on April 9, 2016 and intended to distribute the opioid. The indictment also says he had a firearm which was related to his drug trafficking.

The indictment also says the Garfield Heights resident was in possession of heroin and more than 12 grams of methoxyacetylfentanyl, carfentanil and fentanyl pharmacophore for distribution.

The 29-year-old is also accused of having a pair of Glock .40 caliber pistols and a FNH 5.7x28mm pistol at various times in March and April 2016 and November 2017. Cammon has three previous convictions for drug trafficking, a previous conviction for assault and a previous conviction for attempted tampering with evidence.

The investigation into Cammon was led by the Lakewood and Cleveland police departments, the ATF, and the U.S. Marshals.
