Swirl Wine Bar Proposal Tabled Until March

The Solon Planning Commission will take up the to-be-built wine bar March 15

A decision on a number of variances for the proposed Swirl Wine Bar before the Planning Commission won't be made until at least March.

But the architect for the project requested that the project be tabled until the March 15 planning commission meeting.

Earlier this month, planning commission members said and generally favor the applicants' project, which is to turn a historical building at 33325 Bainbridge Road into a wine bar, with an outdoor patio and bocce court.

Commission members said they needed some more information before voting on the project, including a revised landscaping plan, a finalized cross-easement to share parking spaces with the funeral home next door, a proposal for dealing with stormwater and changes to some design features, including lighting and fencing.

According to a memo from city engineer John Busch, the project will not require stormwater drainage calculations, but a final engineering review will wait until the planning commission and city council approve the project.
