Taste Of Solon 'Best Of' Winners Announced

SOLON, OH — The Taste of Solon is one of the city's signature events. Put on by the Solon Chamber of Commerce, attendees get to taste dishes from more than 20 local and regional restaurants. After chowing down, guests vote for their favorite dishes in a variety of categories.

This year's event, held Nov. 12, drew more than 350 people. Each attendee tasted 45 dishes from 21 local and regional restaurants.

Here were the winners of the various People's Choice awards:

• Best Hot Appetizer, Chicago Deli for Potato Pancakes;
• Best Cold Appetizer, Driftwood Catering for their Apple & Brie Bruschetta;
• Best Entrée, Rollhouse Entertainment for their Smoked Beef Tenderloin;
• Best Dessert, Southeast Gears & Cheers for their Tiramisu;
• Best Display, Jamie’s Cake Pops and
• Best of Show – Hilton Garden Inn Twinsburg for their Stuffed Salmon Wellington with Lobster Sauce, Mini Beef Wellington and Chef Mike’s Famous Apple Strudel.

“We are thrilled at the success of this signature event — it was wonderful to see people from all over northeast Ohio coming together to enjoy culinary delights from Solon and our neighboring communities engaging in an evening of fabulous food, shopping, music and making memories,” said Michaleen Paul, chair of the event, and Your Paul Team Keller Williams GCSE.
