Teenagers Crash Car In Lawn In Solon

Three teenagers drove a red Mazda through a fence, hitting a pair of trees.

SOLON, OH — Three teenagers fled a car crash on June 27. They drove a red Mazda through a fence and struck two trees before running away. They were later arrested by police.

Callers reported a crash at 6776 Green Ridge Avenue. When officers arrived they found a red Mazda, battered, and resting against a pair of trees. The car was still running, the doors were open, and music was blasting from the vehicle.

Witnesses said the car was leaving a party on Forest Glen Avenue, driving at a high speed, before it crashed through the fence on Green Ridge and hit the trees. The people in the car then jumped out and ran from the scene.

Police determined the Mazda belonged to a 16-year-old Forest Glen girl. Officers also determined that the girl had been driving two juvenile males home prior to the accident.

The 16-year-old girl was located and she told police the car was stolen. Witnesses contradicted the girl, saying she had given one of the boys permission to drive. The driver and the other male were located and told police they panicked after the crash and fled the scene.

The 16 year old girl was referred to the juvenile officer for underage consumption of alcohol, the two juvenile males were referred as well for the accident and leaving the scene.
