Tell Council NO to Solon Dispatch Regionalization
Solon Council will vote to support Watered-Down emergency 911 services that mirror Euclid
Your council is voting to have our own Solon Dispatch Center dismantled and relocate outside our city to join a regionalization of emergency 911 services. We will be then manned by the same system that currently operates Euclid's emergency calls. SOLON DOES NOT HAVE TO JOIN THIS INITIATIVE. Any money savings are derived from lowering the pay rate of our current dispatchers AND eliminating entire jobs. Solon's current technology is essentially the SAME as what the regionalization team current works with (some of which they from Solon!). What we would end up with is a WATERED-DOWN version of emergency services. Our council reps did not even take the time to investigate our own Solon Dispatch Center and compare our services to the proposed plan; they are just trusting the sales pitch given by a consolidation administrator. What your council wants to do is rush into a program that some communities joined less than one year ago! There has been no data or enough history to prove that this program would benefit Solon citizens at all. Our Public Safety is on the line. CONTACT YOUR COUNCIL REP!
