Man Used Candy, Cell Phone To Try And Lure Girls Into SUV: Police

Three days before Halloween, a man reportedly tried to lure two girls into an SUV with the promise of candy.

SOLON, OH — A man tried to lure two girls into an SUV three days before Halloween, police say. The incident took place on Ashdown Lane, where the girls were riding scooters.

According to notes from a Solon Police Department's Public Information Officer, the incident took place at about 5:15 p.m. The two girls were on their scooters when a dark-colored SUV pulled up near them. A passenger in the car asked the girls if they wanted some candy.

The girls ignored the question and tried to keep moving down the street. Undeterred, the SUV again approached the girls while they were on Popham Lane.

This time, the passenger asked the girls if they would like an iPhone. The girls again ignored the man and headed for one of the girls' house.

The detective bureau is investigating the incident. Solon Police did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more information.
