Wanted Man Illegally Had Loaded Gun, Solon Police Say
Police said they stopped a car on US 422 for speeding. The driver said he hadn't had a license in years and had a loaded gun in the trunk.

SOLON, OH — A wanted man, with a suspended license, was arrested Sunday in Solon. The man was stopped after he was clocked driving 75 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 422.
When police stopped the man's car, they asked him to hand over his driver's license. According to police, the man reportedly said, "I haven't had a license in years, it's suspended."
Officers ran the man's name through the state computer system and found that he had warrants from four different cities. His license was also under five different suspensions, police said.

Before the man was arrested, police asked if there were any drugs, weapons, or alcohol in the vehicle. The man said there were a gun in the backseat or trunk. As a convicted felon, the man was barred from having a firearm, police noted.

The driver, a 49-year-old from Lakewood, was arrested and taken to Solon Correction Center. He is being charged with felony possession of a weapon under disability.
Police said the loaded gun was located in the trunk of the man's car.
