When Is Trick-Or-Treat In Solon?
Halloween is quickly approaching. Residents will want to make sure they have plenty of candy to give to costumed kiddies.
SOLON, OH — Solon's official trick-or-treat will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31. Drivers are being asked to be particularly cautious and vigilant in moving through the city during those times.
Before costumed kiddies hit the streets, parents and residents should review safety tips and be cautious when driving on or roaming the roads. Cuyahoga County recommends parents accompany young children who go out trick-or-treating, and urged parents or solo trick-or-treaters to carry flashlights.
The county also offered the following tips for the holiday:

- Only visit homes with illuminated porch lights.
- Costumes should be safe for kids. Make sure the costumes have eye holes (if wearing masks), allow for peripheral vision and are fire proof.
- Keep candle-filled jack o'lanterns away from front porch steps. Kids costumes can catch fire.
- Don't go into the home of a stranger.
- Candy should be checked by an adult before being eaten.
- Unwrapped food or drinks should be thrown out and not consumed.
Drivers should keep their lights on, stay off their cell phones and keep their music low while driving during trick-or-treat hours. Costumed kids may cross the street suddenly, so drivers should move very slowly through cities.
