Woman Gets Car Stuck On Solon Lawn, Accused Of Drunken Driving

The woman told police she had tried to turn around in a driveway and had gotten stuck. Problem was: there was no driveway.

SOLON, OH — A woman got her car stuck on a front lawn in Solon, thought she was in a driveway, and was then taken into custody for drunken driving.

Cops were called to an address on Aurora Road at 10 p.m. on March 30. Officers were told there was a disabled car in the road. The caller told police the driver may have been intoxicated.

There was in fact a car stuck in the road. A vehicle had its front wheels stuck in the front yard of an office building on Aurora. The driver was upset and crying, police said. She told officer she had tried to turn around in the company's driveway and had gotten her car stuck.

There was a problem with her story: there was no driveway. The woman had simply driven her car into the front yard of an office building. Police had to explain this fact to the woman, according to records.

The woman smelled strongly of alcohol. She appeared to be unsteady on her feet, police said.

Officers asked the woman if she had been drinking. She told them she had consumed "two beers." Police decided to field test her sobriety.

The woman was arrested after the tests indicated she was impaired, police said. She was taken to Solon Correction Center, where she took a breath test and blew a .164.

After the arrest, police searched the woman's car and found an open container of alcohol and marijuana.
