Annual Bark in the Park Fundraiser Set for May 11 at Springfield Lake Park

PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron is preparing for its annual Bark in the Park pledge walk and pet expo presented by Cascade Subaru and the Lisle M. Buckingham Foundation on Saturday, May 11 at Springfield Lake Park from 11AM – 3PM. Bark in the Park, held in conjunction with Springfield Township, is a celebration of animals and an opportunity for you and your pet to enjoy a walk together while raising money and awareness for those animals who do not have a voice. All proceeds will benefit PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron’s animals who are victims of cruelty, neglect, illness and injury, as well as support our adoption services.

“Our goal is for each participant to raise at least $100,” said Heather Kinaitis, Special Event & Volunteer Coordinator. “More than 90% of PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron’s funding is from individual donations, so get your scout troop, sorority/fraternity, colleagues or even just friends and family together to support a good cause!”

“This is one of our top rated and most attended events and we are striving to make the event bigger and better than ever for 2013,” said Karen Hackenberry, Executive Director of PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron. “We are excited about the family fun atmosphere this event brings, so kick off summer or celebrate the end of the school year with man's best friend!” There will be police dog demonstrations by B.A.R.K, raffle prizes, contests and much more!  PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron will also be showcasing adoptable dogs.
