Cashier Doesn't Want Man Buying Beer at Sheetz Anymore
The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

An employee at called when she thought a customer was concealing a can of beer in his coat and refused to pay for it Feb. 25.
The employee told police that the man has been suspected of stealing alcohol from the store in the past.
On Feb. 25, she told police she watched the man take two cans of beer from the cooler on the Sheetz business camera, then when he came to the register, he attempted to pay for one can.

According to the report, the employee asked where the other can had gone and the man said he put it back on another shelf. The woman said she believed the can was hidden in his coat, but he showed her where he left the other can of beer in the store.
The woman said she didn’t believe him and said he took the can out of his coat and put it on the shelf when she asked about the second can of beer, according to the report.

The employee then refused to sell the man beer at all and told police she does not want the man to return to the store.
Attempted theft, in this situation, is a first-degree misdemeanor.
