Cat Pierced in Neck by Arrow

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A 51-year-old McCauley Road woman initially called because she wanted help getting her cat out from under her porch, but when police pulled the pet out, they were surprised to see a bow and arrow was shot at the animal.Β 

Police Lt. Anne Stirm said the arrow entered the left side of the cat's neck and exited on the left side of the cat's body.Β 

The owners, who live at the 780 block of McCauley, removed the arrow from the cat's body, she said.Β

"We do not know what action was taken by the cat owners once we left the residence or if it survived the injuries," Stirm said.Β 

The police department does not have any leads on the case or any possible suspects.Β

Stirm asked that if any Patch readers had information about the incident, to call Community Service Officer Ed Young atΒ 330-689-5700.

Cruelty to companion animals is a first-degree misdemeanor in this situation.
