On Wednesday, April 8, Congressman David Joyce visited Stow-Munroe Falls High School’s International Business & Marketing Institute’s junior career class. The visit was scheduled by the students competing in the SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association) and SIFMA’s Capitol Hill Challenge. The students met with their state representative, Congressman David Joyce, to discuss their stock buying and trading with the Capital Hill Challenge. Those students whose stock portfolio earns the most qualify for a trip to Washington, DC, this summer.

The Capitol Hill Challenge matches Members of Congress with students, teachers, and schools competing in The Stock Market Game™ in their respective district or state. Student teams manage a hypothetical $100,000 online portfolio and invest in real stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Since its inception in 2004, CHC has made over 2,200 matches of U.S. Representatives and Senators with schools, encompassing more than 60,000 students across the country.
