Eighteen groups of Akron-area musicians wrote and recorded music for separate scenes from the classic silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari for a special collaborative project titled “The Collective Soundtrack.”
Each musician, team and/or band randomly drew a different 3-5 minute section from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari at an orientation on July 29, 2012. They were then given two weeks to write and record their musical segment. The resulting film with its new soundtrack will be exhibited as a free, public event on August 16, 2012 at the Akron Art Museum.
