The Stow Parks and Recreation Department and the Stow-Kent Shopping Center Merchants Association are sponsoring the 37th Annual Halloween Window Painting Contest. Students in sixth through 10th grades are invited to submit a drawing to be judged. Your drawing may be chosen to be painted by you on store windows in the Stow-Kent Shopping Center on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.
Students can work together as a team, or as individuals. (If you are a part of a team, you may not submit a separate, individual drawing.) Drawings must be submitted in color on 8 1/2- by 11-inch white paper. Please refrain from using religious symbols. For example, if your drawing is of a graveyard, use tombstones rather than crosses. Your name, home address, phone number, school, grade and class number must be listed on the back of your drawing or you will be disqualified.
If your drawing is chosen, you will be charged a $10 fee to cover the cost of painting supplies. Awards will be given to the painters of the best windows. Judging will be based on originality, neatness and appeal.
