Police Find Loaded Gun on Front Seat of Drunken Driver's Truck

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On May 3 pulled over a vehicle for a license and moving violation around 3 a.m.

Officers said they suspected the driver, Joshua David Hopkins, 25, of Stow had been drinking.

He was arrested and charged with an OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor, in this situation.

His blood alcohol content was a .211, according to the report. Ohio's legal BAC limit is .08.Β 

Following the arrest, police searched Hopkins Chevy Silverado and found a loaded 9mm handgun on the front seat with two fully loaded handgun magazines.

Hopkins was charged with having expired plates, a minor-misdemeanor, having a handgun, a fourth-degree felony, weaving and going across marked lanes, both minor-misdemeanors.

Hopkins was taken to Summit County Jail.Β
