From application to photographs, Stow residents only have one place to go.

Stow residents looking to travel abroad don't have to travel very far to get their passports. Passport services (including photographs) are available by reservation at the ο»Ώο»Ώ starting today. It took nine months of work between Executive Director Doug Dotterer and the State Department to make SMFPL into a one-stop shop for passport services.

"Sherrod Brown and Meridith Turner were instrumental in helping us bring this service to the people of Stow, Munroe Falls and the surrounding communities," Dotterer said. "We are proud of our partnership with the State Department. They really came through for us with this beneficial service, which will ultimately bring more revenue to our library."

With , the library has to be creative with ideas in how to bring more money into our library, said Dotterer.

First-time applicants have to apply in person, but to save time a printed (and completed) application can be brought from home. The State Department says not to sign the application before visiting the library.

Proof of citizenship (which includes birth certificate or a previous passport) and current proof of identity are required, along with two passport photographs. The cost of a new application is $110 payable by check or money order only to the U.S. State Department.

A $25 execution fee must be paid by cash, check or money order to the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library.Β
