Performance Before We Head to Edinburgh

The once of a lifetime opportunity for the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Drama Club is right around the corner. Their trip to Edinburgh Scotland has finally arrived. The students will be leaving early on August 10th and returning August 23rd in the evening. There are 12 students attending the trip: Greg Blazosky, Marissa Christian, Bailey Cole, Skyler DeMita, Wyatt Hayes, Lane Hedler, Sarah Marmash, Elliot Matz, Rachel Pokelsek, Alex Toth, Alicia Sloan, and Elizabeth Witwer. They will be traveling with their fearless leader and director Robert J. Putka along with three other adult chaperones: Diane Geul, Cynthia Putka, and Elaine Sayre. The students are so excited about the trip and have been working hard on their show called “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” by: Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield. With this show we have a lump of hilarity on our hands and a wonderful cast to perform it. The classic play first premiered at the Fringe in 1987, now interpreted through the eyes, hearts and funny bones of American High School actors. Hysterically funny, witty, and completely preposterous, this play takes us on a fast-paced journey through the nooks and crannies and highs and lows of all 37 of Shakespeare’s comedies and tragedies. Complete with audience participation, Shakespeare Abridged is guaranteed to please and delight audiences of all ages and attitudes, whether the great bard is your cup of tea. You will certainly exit this performance laughing for some time to come. Please join us on Friday August 2nd at 7pm to see our performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). We promise there will not be a dull moment and be prepared for flying props, funny accents, embarrassment, and so much more. At the door we will be collecting donations of any size to get in. This money will go towards group activities and internet fees so we can contact home. Also we would like to give a big thank you to all of those who donated and supported our trip. Thank you to all our friends, family, teachers, and especially our principals Chris Dimauro, Mark Treen, Amanda Murray, and Kathy Thomas for their generous donations. We could not have made it to our goal if it weren’t for the audiences who donated towards the kilt wearing and all the mail donations we received. Please support Blossom Music Center and Jeff Kline with Fun Services for they were a huge help in our fundraising events to reach our $6,000 goal. Don’t be afraid to contact Jeff at (800)-362-8305 if you are ever in need of some backyard fun! Then there is our parent theater organization F.O.T was a huge support of the trip so please be sure to support them next year at the class plays and musicals. We hope to get as many people involved in seeing our show before we leave so, spread the word to everyone. It is going to be hilarious and unforgettable. Plus you will get to see some unexpected people on stage for we have worked hard and need the support till the end.
